Cake Batter

⅔cupgranulated sugar

½cupsour cream
1 ½cupsall purpose flour

1 ½cupsapple peeled and cubed

Crumb Topping
1stickunsalted butter melted and cooled
¼cupgranulated sugar
¾cupbrown sugar
1 ½cupsall purpose flour
1tspcinnamon
¼tspsalt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper.
Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla. Mix in sour cream and set aside.
Combine dry ingredients and mix into wet batter until just combined. Set aside.
Mix apples, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Prepare crumb topping by mixing all crumb ingredients until crumbly.
Assemble the cake: spread cake batter in pan, add apple layer, then top with crumb mixture. Bake for 45-50 minutes, cool, then dust with powdered sugar and cut into squares.
