Delight in these crispy egg rolls filled with sweet cinnamon-spiced apples, served with maple whipped cream for an indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Filling

  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 4 medium Granny Smith apples, chopped (about 5 cups)
  • 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice or ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Egg Roll Assembly

  • 10 egg roll wrappers egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg lightly beaten egg

Frying Oil

  • Vegetable oil vegetable oil for frying (enough to fill 0.5-1 inch in skillet)

Sweet Topping

  • Powdered sugar or granulated sugar sugar for dusting

Maple Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • Pinch salt

Instructions 

  • Melt butter, cook apples with sugars, spices, vanilla, and salt until softened. Stir in flour and lemon juice, then cool.
  • Place an egg roll wrapper on a surface, fill with 3 tbsp of filling, fold and roll tightly, then seal edges with egg.
  • Heat oil to 350°F, fry egg rolls in batches until golden, about 2 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  • Serve warm, dusted with powdered or granulated sugar, with maple whipped cream.

Notes

Ensure to keep rolls tightly sealed to prevent filling from leaking during frying.
