A warm and comforting dessert featuring tender baked apples infused with cinnamon and vanilla, topped with butter.

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Combine water and cornstarch to make a slurry; set aside.
Place sliced apples in a baking dish, sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt. Drizzle with slurry and mix. Top with butter chunks.
Cover loosely with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil, stir, and bake uncovered for 10-15 minutes until tender.
Serve warm, optionally with whipped cream or ice cream.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or serve with a drizzle of caramel sauce.
