A warm and comforting dessert featuring tender baked apples infused with cinnamon and nutmeg, topped with buttery cubes.

Ingredients

Main

  • 3 large apples (peeled, cored, and sliced) (about 4-5 cups)
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1.5 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon nutmeg (optional, but recommended)
  • 1.5 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons butter (cut into small cubes) (vegan, as desired)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking dish.
  • Mix apple slices with sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  • Transfer apples to dish, top with butter cubes, cover with foil, and bake for 30-40 minutes.
  • Stir to coat apples in juices and serve warm.

Notes

Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.
