Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch pans.
Mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, then fold in bananas.
Alternate adding flour mixture and buttermilk to batter. Fold in 1 cup walnuts. Divide into pans and bake 25-30 minutes.
Cool cakes, then prepare frosting by beating cream cheese and butter, adding powdered sugar, vanilla, and white chocolate. Fold in whipped cream.
Assemble cake with frosting between layers, cover with remaining frosting, and decorate with chopped walnuts.
Notes
For best results, use very ripe bananas for extra sweetness and flavor.
