A quick and flavorful beef stir-fry loaded with colorful vegetables and a savory sauce, perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot julienned
  • 1 zucchini sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 3 green onions chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 0.25 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • 0.25 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch for thickening

Instructions 

  • Slice the beef thinly, toss with cornstarch, and let sit for 10 minutes.
  • Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, beef broth, and cornstarch to make the sauce. Set aside.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a skillet, cook beef 2-3 minutes per side until browned, then remove and set aside.
  • Add another tablespoon of oil, sauté garlic and ginger, then add vegetables and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
  • Return beef to pan, pour sauce over, stir to coat, cook 1-2 minutes until sauce thickens.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, serve immediately over rice or noodles.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of rice vinegar or a squeeze of lime before serving.
