Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease, flour, and line two 9-inch pans.
Mix dry ingredients; in a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar, then add oil, eggs, vanilla, and strawberry extracts. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk, then fold in strawberry puree.
Divide batter into pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool completely.
Make frosting by beating butter, gradually adding powdered sugar, vanilla, salt, and strawberry puree until fluffy.
Assemble cake: layer with frosting, then frost top and sides. Decorate with strawberries if desired.
