A flavorful stir-fry featuring tender beef slices coated in a bold black pepper sauce, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp black pepper, freshly ground
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp water for thickening)
  • 0.25 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)
  • to taste salt

Instructions 

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add beef and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add onion, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 2 minutes until fragrant and softened.
  • Sprinkle black pepper into the skillet and stir-fry for 1 minute to release flavors.
  • Pour in soy sauce, beef broth, and oyster sauce. Bring to a simmer, then return beef to coat with sauce.
  • Add cornstarch slurry and cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.

Notes

Adjust black pepper to taste for desired spiciness.
