Ingredients

Butter

  • 230 g Butter (soft)
  • 2 cups Flour (plus 2 tbsp)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 units Eggs
  • 1 egg yolk Egg yolk
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 0.5 tsp Cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 1.5 cups Chocolate chunks
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 cup Pecans (chopped plus extra for topping)

Instructions 

  • Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden and fragrant, then cool.
  • Mix brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, egg yolk, vanilla, and cooled brown butter until combined.
  • Stir in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, chocolate chunks, and chopped pecans.
  • Chill dough in fridge for at least 1 hour, then scoop onto baking sheet and top with pecans.
  • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 9-11 minutes, cool, and serve.

Notes

For best flavor, let the dough rest overnight before baking.
