A flavorful and spicy Cajun shrimp pasta that combines creamy sauce with perfectly seasoned shrimp and colorful vegetables.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 12 oz fettuccine or linguine pasta
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

Sauce & Vegetables

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Cream & Broth

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Seasoning & Garnish

  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions 

  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  • Season shrimp with Cajun spices, then sear in olive oil and butter until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  • Sauté onions and peppers until softened, then add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add broth and cream, then stir in Parmesan until smooth. Season as desired.
  • Combine pasta with sauce, then add shrimp and toss. Cook 1-2 minutes to meld flavors. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the dish before serving.
