Ingredients

Walnuts and oats

  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (Ensure butter is softened, not melted)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (Make sure it's vegan-friendly if needed)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch salt
  • 4 large apples (Choose firm apples that hold their shape well)
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving optional (For an indulgent treat)

Instructions 

  • Core the apples and place them in a baking dish.
  • Mix walnuts, oats, softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl.
  • Stuff the mixture into the cored apples and drizzle with maple syrup.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes until apples are tender.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

Notes
