Ingredients

Meat

  • 2 pounds ground beef (85/15)

Vegetables

  • 2 yellow onions yellow onions, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper green bell pepper, chopped

Garlic

  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped

Liquids

  • 3 cups water
  • 29 ounces tomato sauce
  • 29 ounces diced tomatoes

Seasonings

  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Pasta

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni, uncooked

Instructions 

  • Add ground beef, onions, bell pepper, and garlic to a large Dutch oven; cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Drain excess fat, add remaining ingredients except macaroni; bring to a boil, then simmer covered for 15 minutes.
  • Stir in macaroni, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, let the goulash sit for a few minutes before serving.
