Enjoy warm, fluffy dinner rolls with a soft crumb, perfect for any meal or special occasion.
Ingredients
Dough

whole milk
(warmed until slightly warm to the touch)

tablespoons
unsalted butter
(melted and cooled)

granulated sugar

egg

all-purpose flour
(plus more for kneading)

active dry yeast
(one packet)

Instructions
Mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar; let sit until foamy (5-10 min).
Combine flour and salt; add yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix into a dough.
Knead dough by hand for 8-10 min until smooth. Let rise in a greased bowl until doubled (~1-1.5 hrs).
Punch down dough, divide into 12 pieces, shape into balls, and place on a greased pan.
Let rolls rise until puffed (~30-45 min). Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake for 15-20 min until golden. Brush with melted butter if desired. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For softer rolls, let them rise a bit longer before baking.
