A delicious baked pasta dish combining tender chicken, flavorful pesto, and melted cheese for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

chicken breasts

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced

salt and pepper

penne pasta

  • 8 ounces penne pasta

prepared pesto

  • 1 cup prepared pesto

heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions 

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Cook chicken in olive oil until golden and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Mix cooked pasta, chicken, pesto, and heavy cream in a bowl. Stir in half of the cheeses.
  • Transfer to a baking dish, top with remaining cheese, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes until bubbly.
  • Let cool briefly, then serve garnished with basil or extra Parmesan if desired.

Notes

For a lighter version, use less cheese or a lower-fat cream alternative.
