Enjoy these delicious Greek chicken gyros packed with flavorful marinated chicken, fresh vegetables, and creamy tzatziki sauce, all wrapped in warm pita bread.

Ingredients

Marinade and Chicken

  • 1 lb chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 4 pieces pita breads
  • 1 cup tzatziki sauce ((store-bought or homemade))
  • 1 medium cucumber, diced
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • 0.5 medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions 

  • Mix olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add chicken and marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Cook marinated chicken in a skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes until cooked and slightly charred.
  • Warm pita breads on a skillet for 1 minute per side.
  • Assemble pitas with chicken, cucumber, tomato, onion, tzatziki, and parsley. Wrap and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken longer or add a squeeze of lemon before serving.
