Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup cottage cheese, preferably low-fat or full-fat
  • 1 large egg
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Egg wash

  • 1 egg beaten egg

Topping

  • 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Blend cottage cheese until smooth, then mix with egg, flour, baking powder, and salt to form a dough.
  • Divide dough into 4 portions, roll into 7-inch ropes, and shape into rings, sealing ends.
  • Place bagels on baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with seasoning.
  • Bake for 22-25 minutes until golden and puffed, then cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding herbs or cheese to the dough.
