Delicious homemade garlic bread rolls with a soft interior and golden crust, perfect for any meal or as a snack.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 4.5 tablespoons unsalted butter (for melting and brushing)
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic (for dough and topping)
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour (see notes for measuring)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2.25 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup whole or 2% milk (warmed to 110°F)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 beaten egg for brushing the tops

Garlic Butter Topping

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for melting and brushing)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Finishing

  • flaky sea salt for finishing flaky sea salt

Instructions 

  • Butter a 9x13 pan and set aside.
  • Melt butter, add minced garlic, cook 1-2 minutes, then cool.
  • Mix flour, parsley, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add milk, egg, and garlic butter. Knead until smooth, about 10-12 minutes.
  • Divide dough into 12 balls, shape, place in pan, cover, and let rise 1-2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Brush rolls with beaten egg, bake 20-30 minutes until golden.
  • Make garlic butter, brush rolls immediately after baking, sprinkle with flaky sea salt, and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, ensure dough is not too sticky by adding flour gradually.
