A flavorful and easy-to-make dish combining tender beef, fragrant garlic butter rice, and peas for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced into strips
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice, rinsed
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef or chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions 

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season beef with salt and pepper, then cook for 4-5 minutes until browned. Transfer to a plate.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the same skillet, then cook minced garlic for 30-60 seconds until fragrant. Stir in rice and toast for 1-2 minutes.
  • Pour in broth and soy sauce, bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes until rice is tender.
  • Stir in frozen peas and remaining butter, cover, and let sit off heat for 3-5 minutes. Return beef to skillet, toss gently, and adjust seasoning. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of soy sauce or a squeeze of lemon before serving.
