These wholesome breakfast bars are packed with oats, peanut butter, and chocolate chips for a delicious and nutritious start to your day.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup natural peanut butter
  • ½ cup honey or maple syrup
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch pan with parchment.
  • Mix dry ingredients in a bowl; whisk wet ingredients in another.
  • Combine wet and dry, then fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Press mixture into the pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • Cool, then cut into bars and enjoy.
