A quick and flavorful dish featuring tender tilapia fillets marinated in a honey lime sauce, then lightly coated and pan-fried to perfection.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 4 fillets tilapia fillets (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 piece lime (juice and zest)
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1.5 Tbsp honey
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt (for coating)
  • 0.25 tsp pepper (for coating)
  • 0.5 c flour (white or whole wheat pastry flour)
  • 0.25 tsp salt (for dredging)
  • 0.25 tsp pepper (for dredging)
  • 1-2 Tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions 

  • Combine lime zest, lime juice, olive oil, honey, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to make marinade. Marinate fish in refrigerator for 1-24 hours.
  • Mix flour with salt and pepper on a plate. Lightly dredge each fillet in the flour mixture.
  • Heat 1-2 Tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook fillets 3-4 minutes per side until opaque and browned.
  • Serve with lime wedges or peach salsa.

Notes

Ensure not to disturb the fish while cooking for best browning.
