This homemade honey whole wheat bread is soft, flavorful, and perfect for sandwiches. Easy to make with wholesome ingredients.
Ingredients
Wet ingredients

water (room temperature)

milk of your choice (room temperature)

honey

extra-virgin oil
(sub any neutral vegetable oil)

active dry yeast
Dry ingredients

unbleached bread or all-purpose flour

whole wheat flour

kosher or fine sea salt
Additional
Butter (or non-stick spray for coating the pan)
Instructions
Mix honey, milk, oil, and water; add yeast and let sit 10-15 min.
Combine flours and salt; let sit 10 min.
Add yeast mixture to dry ingredients; let rise until doubled (~1 hr). Refrigerate if not baking immediately.
Shape dough into a loaf, place in buttered pan, and let rise 1 hr until ½ inch above pan edges.
Preheat oven to 350ºF (180ºC); bake 40-45 min until golden and hollow-sounding. Cool 1 hr before slicing.
