Ingredients

Marinade

  • 1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt (Substitute with coconut yogurt for dairy-free)
  • 0.25 cup Olive Oil (Avocado oil works as an alternative)
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cumin (Crucial for authentic flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika (Use regular paprika for milder flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Coriander (Optional but recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder (Can substitute with fresh minced garlic)
  • to taste Salt Salt
  • to taste Ground Black Pepper Ground Black Pepper (Substitute with white pepper for milder spice)
  • 1 Juice Lemon (Lime juice is a suitable alternative)

Chicken

  • 2 pounds Boneless, Skinless Chicken Thighs (Key for juicy chicken)

Bread & Veggies

  • 4 pieces Pita Bread (Warm for best texture)
  • 1 cup Fresh Veggies (Crisp options like cucumber and tomato)
  • 0.5 cup Tahini Sauce (Enhances overall flavor)

Instructions 

  • Mix yogurt, olive oil, spices, garlic, and lemon juice to create the marinade.
  • Marinate the chicken thighs in the mixture for at least 1 hour.
  • Cook the chicken in the oven at 400°F (200°C) or on the grill until fully cooked, about 25-30 minutes.
  • Warm the pita bread and prepare fresh veggies and tahini sauce.
  • Slice the cooked chicken, assemble in pita with veggies and tahini, and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken overnight and serve with a side of pickles.
