A flavorful and easy Korean-inspired ground beef bowl with caramelized glaze served over jasmine rice.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb lean ground beef 90% lean
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 0.25 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp raw honey
  • 0.5 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions 

  • Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté garlic and ginger for 1 minute.
  • Add ground beef; sear undisturbed for 5-7 minutes. Break into crumbles and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Pour in soy sauce, honey, red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes until glazed.
  • Divide jasmine rice into bowls. Top with glazed beef, green onions, and sesame seeds.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle additional sesame seeds or add a fried egg on top.
