Wet ingredients

(from 2 lemons)

Glaze

powdered sugar

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan and line with parchment.
Mix dry ingredients and poppy seeds in a bowl.
Whisk sugar and eggs until thick, then add milk, butter, lemon juice, zest, and vanilla; mix well.
Fold dry ingredients into wet until just combined. Pour into pan.
Bake for 45-55 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice to make glaze. Drizzle over cooled loaf and let set.
Notes
Ensure not to overmix the batter for a tender crumb.
