  • 2 whole Dungeness crabs (Fresh or freshly cooked, cleaned)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (Melted)
  • 4 cloves garlic (Minced)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (Freshly squeezed)
  • to taste sea salt
  • to taste black pepper (Freshly cracked)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Clean the crabs thoroughly and pat dry.
  • Place crabs in a roasting pan and season with salt and pepper.
  • Melt butter and mix with minced garlic and lemon juice.
  • Baste the crabs with the garlic butter mixture halfway through roasting.
  • Roast crabs for 20-25 minutes until the shell is bright orange and meat is opaque.
  • Serve warm with lemon wedges and optional dipping sauces.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding paprika or cayenne to the garlic butter. Save the crab shells to make seafood stock.
