Ingredients

Canned Goods

  • 1 can diced tomatoes with Italian herbs (14 oz, undrained)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped

Spices & Seasonings

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Dairy

  • ½ cup heavy cream or evaporated milk
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

Chicken

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 lbs)

For Serving

  • to taste Parmesan cheese

Instructions 

  • Combine tomatoes, marinara, garlic, salt, Italian seasoning, basil, and pepper in slow cooker.
  • Whisk cream and cornstarch, then stir into slow cooker.
  • Add chicken breasts, pressing into sauce, and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours.
  • Stir in fresh basil, adjust seasonings, and serve with Parmesan cheese.
