Ingredients

Uncooked white rice

  • 0.75 cup uncooked white rice

Milk

  • 2.5 cups milk

Sugar

  • 0.33 cup sugar

Butter

  • 1 tablespoon butter

Vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cinnamon (optional)

  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions 

  • Combine rice and milk in a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring often, until rice is soft and mixture thickens.
  • Stir in sugar and butter, cook for 2-3 minutes until creamy.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and cinnamon if using.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use full-fat milk and butter.
