A hearty and flavorful chili perfect for any occasion, customizable with your favorite toppings.

low sodium beef broth
(or one 14.5 oz can)

can fire roasted crushed or diced tomatoes

can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained

can pinto or black beans, rinsed and drained
Toppings
shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, avocado, chopped red or green onions, cilantro, etc.

Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook 2 minutes.
Add ground beef, cook until browned, then drain excess grease. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
Stir in chili powder, cumin, brown sugar, oregano, salt, pepper, and tomato paste. Add broth and scrape up bits.
Mix in tomatoes and beans, bring to a boil, then simmer for 1-2 hours, uncovered last 30 minutes.
Serve chili topped with cheese, sour cream, avocado, onions, cilantro, or as desired.
Notes
Adjust chili powder for desired spice level and serve with your favorite toppings.
