A flavorful Turkish-inspired pasta dish with savory ground beef, aromatic spices, and creamy yogurt sauce, perfect for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 300 grams pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 450 grams ground beef
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1 teaspoon pul biber (red pepper flakes)
  • 2 medium tomatoes (pureed or canned)
  • 200 grams yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic (mashed)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons dried mint
  • 2 teaspoons paprika

Instructions 

  • Heat olive oil in a pan, sauté onions until soft, add garlic and tomato paste, cook for a minute.
  • Add ground beef, cook until browned, then stir in spices and pureed tomatoes. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  • Cook pasta according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
  • Mix yogurt with mashed garlic, salt, and lemon juice to make the sauce.
  • Melt butter with olive oil, add mint and paprika, cook briefly until fragrant.
  • Assemble: Divide pasta, top with beef sauce, add yogurt sauce, drizzle with butter sauce, garnish as desired.

Notes

For extra spice, sprinkle additional pul biber on top before serving.
