Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta with Berry Compote

A creamy, elegant dessert featuring vanilla-infused panna cotta topped with fresh berry compote.

Ingredients

Dairy

  • cups whole milk
  • 3 teaspoons powdered gelatin
  • cup granulated sugar
  • cups heavy cream (or half and half)
  • 1 vanilla bean vanilla bean (seeds scraped) (or 1 tsp vanilla paste or extract)
  • teaspoon sea salt

Berry Compote

  • for topping Mixed Berry Compote (see notes)

Instructions 

  • Spray ramekins with cooking spray and wipe out excess.
  • Heat milk in a saucepan; sprinkle gelatin and let sit 5 minutes.
  • Warm milk gently, stirring until gelatin dissolves; add sugar and stir until dissolved.
  • Remove from heat; whisk in cream, vanilla, and salt. Pour into ramekins and chill until set.

Notes

Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
