Ingredients

Meat

  • 2 pounds ground venison
  • ½ yellow onion yellow onion (finely diced)
  • 1 green bell pepper green bell pepper (finely diced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (grated or minced)

Canned Goods

  • 30 ounces tomato sauce
  • 30 ounces stewed tomatoes
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons salt (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)

Pasta

  • 3 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)
  • 1 cup medium cheddar cheese

Instructions 

  • Add ground venison, onion, bell pepper, and garlic to a large pot. Cook until browned, then drain excess grease.
  • Add tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes, water, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in uncooked macaroni and cook until tender, about 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Mix in cheddar cheese and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, let the goulash simmer longer to develop deeper taste.
